Responsibilities:

  • Attend one day of drill a month at armory with assigned unit
  • Provide informal support to soldiers to increase awareness and decrease stigma
  • Refer service members to viable resources in their communities based upon needs
  • Ensure that there is a “warm” handoff between the service member and the resource to which they are being referred
  • Provide feedback on the viability of community resources
  • Attend two volunteer training calls a month either in person or over the phone
  • Provide 1-2 hours a week of follow up phone calls to ensure continued support of referred service members
  • Complete interaction logs on a monthly basis
  • Participate in special events such as National Guard Reintegration Weekends on an as needed basis to increase community and military awareness of the program

Qualifications:

  • Be a Veteran with insight about reintegration challenges
  • Able to work independently
  • Can engage with and motivate people from diverse backgrounds
  • Motivated, approachable, and good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to use online reporting system and communicate through email
